Miss DUT and Miss SA Campus is a beauty with brains! Lungile Ngcobo, Miss DUT 2016 and Miss SA Campus 2017, will graduate on Wednesday.

Ngcobo who was crowned Miss DUT in July 2016 and Miss SA Campus in January 2017 will obtain her National Diploma in Public Management and Economic during the Management Sciences graduation ceremony, Wednesday (26 April 2017) at 10 am in Indumiso Campus’s FJ Sithole Hall.

She is the first to graduate in her family from her parent’s six children. Raised by unemployed parents with little or no education, Ngcobo made sure never to lose focus where her education is concerned.

“My parents didn’t get a chance to go to school, however, they have always emphasised the value of education especially in women. That is why although I loved modelling, my studies are always my priority,” said Ngcobo.

It must have been tough for Ngcobo to complete her studies and prepare for such big competitions (Miss DUT/Miss SA Campus), but she managed to win both her crowns and complete her studies.

“Modelling is not something you can solely rely on because a career as a model lasts until a certain age but education lives with you forever. I might be winning competitions but I also need something stable and getting an education is exactly that,” added Ngcobo.

Ngcobo is currently doing her Bachelor of Technology Degree in Public Management and Economics and hopes to enrol for her Master’s degree when she completes her Btech while continuing with modelling.
