A Somatologist is a person who is interested in assisting others in improving their general wellness and aesthetic appearance through information and practice of healthy life style habits, product use and clinic treatments.

Clinique Technique is a little oasis on DUT Ritson Road Campus, situated in Mansfield Building. Here staff, students and members of the public come for relaxation, skin and body care treatments and wellness programmes. Various promotions run throughout the year. Special rates and gift vouchers can be purchased from the clinic for treatments and products that are sold.
Community service learning projects are coordinated through the clinic. Staff and students also support KZN sporting endeavours such as the Comrades Marathon and the Thomas Moore 85km walk.
