DUT GRADUATION NUMBERS CONTINUE TO INCREASE

Graduation numbers at the Durban University of Technology have continued to increase. The 2017 Spring graduation ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 13 September 2017 at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre on the Steve Biko campus in Durban.

A total number of 1029 students will graduate during the DUT September graduation ceremonies. The 2017 Spring graduation numbers have increased when compared to the 1010 students who graduated last September 2016.
Alan Khan, Senior Director of Corporate Affairs at DUT said that “Graduate numbers had also increased during the April/May graduation season this year, with more females than males graduating at DUT. In total, 6825 students will graduate from DUT in 2017. We are very proud of all graduates and we wish them continued success and good fortune in the years ahead.”

The Spring 2017 graduation sees an increase in graduate numbers of 13% for the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment and 41% for the Faculty of Health Sciences. The University’s Spring graduation ceremonies consist of three sessions. The morning session will commence at 09h00, while the second session will begin at 13h00. The evening session takes place at 17h00.

DUT will also confer honorary doctorates to human rights activist and legal expert, Judge Navi Pillay and former student activist and former Executive Director of international environmentalist group Greenpeace, Dr Kumi Naidoo.
