The Durban University of Technology’s HIV/AIDS Centre, in partnership with Aids
Healthcare Foundation, will be hosting the 2nd DUT Silent Protest march on the 24th of August
2016. The first DUT Silent Protest was held in August 2015, and received the support of over
a thousand students and staff members.
The DUT Silent Protest aims to raise awareness about the silence that often surrounds (and
perpetuates) sexual violence in our communities. Through this event we also hope to show
solidarity with survivors of gender-based violence who are often rendered silent by their
experiences. The event also considers the connections between HIV and gender-based
violence and thus advocates for wider distribution of PEP.
We would like to extend an invitation to you to join us on this day.

The details are as follows:
Date: 24 August 2016
Time: 07h30 – 15h00
Venue: Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus
Please note that we strongly urge everyone to RSVP. Kindly follow this link to RSVP:
