The Durban University of Technology will host its Durban graduation ceremonies from Monday, 8 May 2017 at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus. This follows the four successful ceremonies that DUT hosted in Pietermaritzburg two weeks ago.

The 2017 autumn graduation numbers have increased when compared to last year. A total number of 3209 female students are graduating this autumn whilst 2582 males that will receive their qualifications. In total, 38 women will graduate with Masters degrees whilst 30 men will receive their Master’s degrees in Durban. However, 11 males will receive their Doctoral degrees while five females will receive their doctorates.

Of the 5796 students who are graduating, in terms of race, 4605 are African, 960 are Indians, 133 are White, 86 are coloured and 12 are classified as “other races.”

The Durban graduation ceremonies consist of three sessions each day. The morning session commences at 09h00 while the after sessions starts at 14h00. The evening session takes place at 18h00.

#FeesMustFall leader, Bonginkosi Khanyile, will graduate on Tuesday evening 9 May 2017, during the Faculty of Management Sciences graduation ceremony. He will be awarded his National Diploma in Public Management and Economics Cum Laude.

DUT wishes to congratulate all students who will be graduating this year. We are proud of their achievements and we wish them success and good fortune as they enter the world of work. We are also excited to welcome many of our graduates back to DUT for their post-graduate studies, as they strive to complete their Masters and PhD qualifications.
