SUSPENSION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Media Statement by Prof Nqabomzi Gawe, Acting Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellor: Institutional Support and official spokesperson of the Durban University of Technology (DUT)
Management at DUT have suspended all academic activities on all campuses with immediate effect until Friday, 19 March 2010, due to difficulties experienced in relation to violent student protests, this morning. A Management team is currently engaged in a meeting at Midlands Campus in Pietermaritzburg to find a solution to concerns raised by students. On Durban campuses, security has been beefed up and police have been deployed to monitor the situation to ensure safety of staff and students.
