RadioDUT Takes Steps to Make a Difference

In a bid to raise funds and empower students who cannot afford to pay for their studies although they qualify for entry into higher education, RadioDUT will launch the #IPledgeToGive campaign tomorrow on Friday, 8 April 2016.

RadioDUT believes that in modern society, finance should never determine whether or not a student has access to education, health and opportunity. The student centred radio station has taken upon its responsibilities to ensure that its establishes a creative and interactive way to combat issues faced by DUT students.

According to the Station Manager, Sibusiso Nxumalo, the campaign pledges to give towards people empowerment, education, life and art. The #IPledgeToGive will be showcased through various activations. One of the main activation will be music and art amongst other creative ways to create awareness on issues facing students at DUT. Awareness will be aligned with methods to tackle these hurdles.

RadioDUT wishes to do this through sourcing funding from various organisations and individuals with a flare for education. RadioDUT will also sell bumper stickers at the starting price of R10, host music session and the campaign will take place in all campuses.

Details of the event are as follows:
Date: Friday, 8 April 2016
Time: 12 to 2pm
Venues: Starting at Steve Biko Campus Food Court.
