The 4th Session of “Chinese Bridge” Winter Camp in China of the DUT CI was held in FAFU

In the afternoon of December 25th, the opening ceremony of the 4th session of “Chinese Bridge” Winter Camp in China of the Confucius Institute at DUT was held in Longyan Hall, Mingde Building.

The Vice-President Zheng Baodong, the relevant people in charge of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, College of Liberal Arts and Law, the Confucius Institute of FAFU at DUT and all winter camp campers and volunteers participated in the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Vice-President Baodong, on behalf of all the teachers and students of FAFU, firstly welcomed the arrival of the campers from afar and introduced the general situation of FAFU and the cooperation and exchanges between the two universities. Baodong expressed his wish that all campers could cherish this learning opportunity to further study Chinese traditional culture and make positive contributions to the promotion of the friendship and mutual trust between the two countries. Afterwards, the guests attending the opening ceremony gave camp flags to the representatives of the campers and helped them wear the badges of FAFU successfully. Then, they posed together for a group photo. During the final interactive sessions, the campers from South Africa had an introduction with the Chinese volunteers, and they exchanged gifts with each other, all these were conducted in a very warm atmosphere.

Since 2014, FAFU has been held for four times and it has been a success. The “Chinese Bridge” of Winter Camp in China of Confucius Institute of FAFU at DUT in South Africa, and nearly 100 local teachers and students from Durban went to FAFU for exchange programmes. In 2017, charged by the College of Liberal Arts and Law, the “Chinese Bridge” Winter Camp invited 22 young students from South Africa to attend the Fujian exchange programme. During the visit in Fujian, the campers would undergo a 16-day camp with colorful activities. They would learn the profound Chinese culture, experience the rapid development of China, enjoy the wonderful scenery of the mountains and rivers in Fujian, and make their contributions to the promotion of cultural and educational exchanges between China and South Africa.
