DUT Hosts World Conference On Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education Workshops

Delegates from 30 countries have converged in the city of Durban for the 18th World Conference on Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education.

The biennial event which includes, among others, industries, colleges and universities managers, academics and SETAs started today (June 24, 2013).

For the next three days, the main proceedings of the conference will take place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre while workshops will be held at the Durban University of Technology’s Hotel School, Ritson Campus.

Among the topics that the delegates are expected to discuss at the DUT Hotel School today is “Capitalising on Work-Integrated Education”. Primary issues to be addressed include the financial benefits of training to industry, academia and students and the challenges that are faced. The insurance for Work –Integrated Learning students in the workplace is also set to be discussed.

The conference runs until Friday 28, 2013.
