STUDENT GOVERNANCE AND DEVELOPMENT/ STUDENT LIFE
The department aims to support a governance framework for student activities and to offer opportunities for co-curricular learning and engagement, while promoting sound social and leadership skills.
- We provide critical, high quality support and interventions to all students.
- We provide a nurturing environment to students who are in leadership and those wishing to assume leadership.
- Connect what they learn in class to real life circumstances
- Provide professional training, information and consultative services to student leaders.

For the clubs and societies to be recognized, they should provide the following to the Student Governance/Student Life Office
- The Constitution
- The Membership (with a minimum of 150 members)
- The Programme of Action (POA)
- Duly Elected Executive Committee
- This process shall from 2021 take place online

- In 2021 a Leadership Academy will be established, use it to hone your leadership skills
- In 2021, DUT Student Business Festival will be launched – try running your own business or just enjoy yourself at the festival!
- Be a tutor to High School students.
- Participate in national Choral Competitions/Festivals through the choir
