Applicants considered for the Extended first year will register only for Wellness I, Aesthetics I, Anatomy and Physiology I, Communication Skills I and Computer Skills I. Students registered in the extended first year will only be eligible for subsequent registration in the Department of Somatology if they pass all of the above subjects or a minimum of Wellness I, Communication Skills I and Aesthetics I.

An extended learner cannot re-register for the National Diploma: Somatology if they have not passed Soma Techniques I and Wellness Module II in the subsequent year of registration.

National Diploma Selection Procedure:

  • All applicants must apply to the Central Applications Office (CAO).
  • All applications that meet the minimum admission requirements to the Somatology Programme will be required to undergo an entrance assessment as part of the selection procedure.
  • Successful applicants will be informed of their selection for registration either onto the Full Curriculum Program or the Extended Curriculum Program.
  • Persons applying must be in possession of a Senior Certificate or National Senior Certificate as per minimum requirements below:
