THE INSTITUTE OF INTERNAL AUDITORS KZN REGION AND DUT HOSTED A SUCCESSFUL INTERNAL AUDIT AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FUN WALK

First-Year Auditing and Taxation students recently participated in an inspiring event at Ritson Campus.

The Institute of Internal Auditors KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) region, in collaboration with the Durban University of Technology (DUT), organised a successful Internal Audit Awareness Campaign Fun Walk. The event was specifically organised for first-year students in the Department of Auditing and Taxation. The gathering was graced by the presence of the Head of Department, Dr Lulu Jali, and her dedicated staff members.

The Internal Audit Awareness Campaign Fun Walk was aimed to introduce students to the world of internal auditing, providing them with valuable insights into the industry’s importance and potential career opportunities.

The participants eagerly assembled at Ritson Campus, displaying enthusiasm and excitement. As they gathered, they were greeted by staff members of the Institute of Internal Auditors KZN Region and the Auditing and Taxation Staff. The event’s organisers had put a tremendous effort into creating an engaging and informative atmosphere, with colourful banners and informational displays about internal auditing which was strategically placed around the event area.

The highlight of the day was the presence of the esteemed Head of Department, Dr Lulu Jali. As a respected figure in the field, her participation in the event underscored the importance of internal auditing and demonstrated her commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals. Dr Jali’s presence also served as a source of inspiration and motivation for the first-year students, as they listened to her insightful remarks about the significance of internal auditing in various industries.

The Fun Walk itself allowed the students to interact with their peers, staff members, and professionals from the Institute of Internal Auditors. The students were encouraged to ask questions and seek guidance from the experienced professionals accompanying them.

Prizes were awarded to those who demonstrated exceptional knowledge and enthusiasm throughout the day.

“The event provided an excellent platform for networking and building relationships with professionals in the field, which will undoubtedly benefit the students as they progress in their academic and professional journeys,” said Dr Jali .

As the Internal Audit Awareness Campaign Fun Walk concluded, the participants expressed their gratitude to the organisers for such a rewarding and enlightening experience. They now eagerly anticipate further opportunities to explore the field of internal auditing, armed with the knowledge and inspiration gained from this remarkable event.
