YOLISWA MKHIZE IS ONE OF THE  TOP ACHIEVERS IN THE FACULTY OF ACCOUNTING AND INFORMATICS

Believing in producing excellent results in everything one does s what led Yoliswa Mkhize to become the top achiever in the Faculty of Accounting and Informatics graduates list. The 22 -year-old graduated with her Diploma in Accounting with Cum Laude at the Olive Convention Centre on 24 May 2024.

The elated Mkhize shared her message of appreciation to her mother who single handedly had paid all her first year fees and expenses, after being rejected by National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). In her second year of studying, Mkhize was able to secure funding, through a private sponsor after producing a stellar performance in her first year results.

For Mkhize, accounting has always been her first love since from high school days. Her Economic Management Science(EMS) teacher that was teaching her at that time made her realise that accounting  was easy, and she then decided she would pursue a career in it.

“The Bulwer born believed that graduating with Cum Laude was a significant academic achievement that reflected a student’s dedication, hard work, and intellectual prowess. She viewed her achievement as a distinction that not only honour the effort put into one’s studies but could also open doors for better career opportunities and further educational prospects.

Sharing her career aspirations, Mkhize initially  wanted to be a chartered accountant but she could not  study at the university accredited by SAICA due to her matric mathematics marks, she is now considering the SAIPA root.
