The dynamic Ms Lebogang Phasha is the Executive Secretary to the Executive Dean for Faculty of Accounting and Informatics, Professor Oludayo, O. Olugbara, at the Durban University of Technology (DUT).
The Faculty of Accounting and Informatics is at the forefront with the production of dynamic graduates, increasing research output, increasing academic aptitude with industry related focus, and developing sound teaching methods.
Being in such a demanding position where she ensures the smooth running of the Faculty, Ms Phasha is a firm believer in growing one’s self. She is keen to embark on her Master’s degree as self-development is key to her.
Ms Phasha explains how vital it is for DUT staff like herself to embark in academic studies. “I strongly believe that education is the key to open many doors for success and inspiration to achieve desired goals,” she replied.
She indicated that for 2024, academically, she needs to see herself strive for change and uplifting her knowledge and skills. “Personally, I need to focus on myself and what I believe brings peace at all costs,” she added.
In terms of how she aims to find a balance between work, home life and studying, Ms Phasha commented that it is a difficult stage of life to balance with but through support, love, care, courage and inspiration it becomes possible.
“My wish for our Faculty for 2024 is to be recognised as the best amongst others, not because of competition but because of initiative and innovation. Also, I would like to say to all our people, especially the growing youth that it always looks impossible until it is done, and to always remember that if you fail to try, you try to fail,” she said.
