The Durban University of Technology’s (DUT) Xolile Mchunu from Kwahlabisa, KwaZulu-Natal will graduate with Cum Laude for her degree in Bachelor of Education. The graduation will take place at the DUT 2024 Autumn Graduation ceremony which will be held at the Indumiso Campus on Monday, 13 May 2024.
Studying Bachelor of Education was always her dream since she was young girl and excelling in her studies was the only way she could guarantee her dream will come true.
“My journey at this university has been a long success as from day one until present day, it is all like a dream come true. I invested a lot in the past four years of study and it was all worth it, hard word really does pay off,” said Mchunu.
Mchunu recalls having some hardships in her journey as a student with financial constraints.
“Those were really hard times since I knew that there was no one I could call back home to buy me groceries, which made studying more hard with an empty stomach,” she said.
She shared that graduating with Cum Laude means the world to her as it is something that will open many doors in the real world.
She intends on studying further and wishes to obtain a Master’s degree. “The only key to this career is to be dedicated and work really hard like there’s no tomorrow,” she concluded.
