Today marks a memorable day for the dedicated Indivile Cici who has obtained her third qualification at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) 2024 Autumn Graduation ceremony which was held at the Indumiso campus in Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday, 14 May 2024.

The 23-year-old from the small town of Eastern Cape called Tsomo has always excelled in her academics. Cici professes to being a ‘jack of all trades’.

“I am currently studying for my Master’s in Public Relations and Communications, serving as a Co-President of the Golden Key DUT Chapter, academic tutor for postgraduate students and a residence advisor. All these roles mean a lot to me as they are a lifetime opportunity of learning in leadership roles,” explained Cici.

After completing matric Cici took a bold decision of relocating from the Eastern Cape to KwaZulu-Natal to pursue her dreams. Throughout the years at DUT she has managed to overcome every obstacle to succeed academically.

“One of my biggest highlights during my academic journey is being able to complete all my previous qualifications in record time. DUT has definitely played a huge role in my self-development by offering me endless opportunities. In 2022, the Department of Applied Management Sciences awarded me with a scholarship to study in Germany,” she said proudly.

Furthermore, Cici explained that obtaining her third qualifications emphasises that everything is possible when one believes and works hard.

Cici expressed that she is driven by the DUT values and principles and associates mostly with excellence and respect.

“In life it is very important to excel in every opportunity, respect everyone because we all do not know what the future holds,” she expressed.

Cici encourages other graduates to further their studies and always strive to be better versions of themselves.
