DUT HR GRADUATE AIMS TO REACH THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION UPON GRADUATING CUM LAUDE

Andiswa Mellodius Shozi, aspires to reach the highest level of academic qualification after graduating Cum Laude with her Diploma in Management Sciences specialising in Human Resources Management during the Durban University of Technology (DUT) 2024 Autumn Graduation 2024 at the Olive Convention Centre (OCC) on Saturday, 25 May 2024.

Shozi (21) who comes from the rural township of Umzinto on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal is enthusiastic about education and believes in the importance of knowledge and personal development and also wishes to graduate with a red gown in the future.

“This achievement mattered significantly to me, my parents, and my siblings who were very proud and excited for me and this had brought a lot of hope for a better future and inspired me to plan on studying further and eventually becoming a Doctoral graduate in the future,” she said.

Outlining some of the challenges she had faced, Shozi said she struggled to adjust to life in university as she began her academic journey during the time of COVID-19 pandemic which had forced her to adapt to online learning, which was very foreign to her at the time.

She added that she strongly relates to the DUT values and principles and feels that they are aligned with her personality as she was raised to be honest, respectful, have integrity, and always be transparent.

Shozi is currently employed as an HR intern at Toyota Halfway and ultimately aims to get to the highest position in the field of HR, or become a HR lecturer one day.
