Babelwe Mzulwini from Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) has done himself proud by following in his family footsteps, his mother and aunt who are already in public administration sector. He graduated Cum Laude for his Diploma in Public Administration in Supply Chain Management at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) 2025 Autumn Graduation Ceremony at Indumiso Campus Hall in Pietermaritzburg on Monday, 12 May 2025.
He said obtaining his qualification with Cum Laude was more of a shot for the stars and hit to the moon.
“In all your harvests, get wisdom and never underestimate the power. I am already eyeing for another qualification and I want to graduate in 2026,’’ he added.
The ambitious 24-years-old is currently enrolled for his Advanced Diploma In Public Administration in Supply Chain Management. One of his long term goal was to become the transport minister one day.
Looking at his current success, Mzulwini was not surprised because he has been always determined and whatever hurdles he had encountered at DUT he took them as his source of inspiration. He had to stay disciplined, endure long nights and adhere to strict academic deadlines.
His academic duration was like treading water in the middle of the ocean in the hope of an epiphany on how to float. In the end he managed quite well and still hopes to do better. At the moment his priority is to get his Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) certification and land an internship.
“I plan on studying until the day I die,” he explained.
