Wendy Andiswa Ndlovu, a young dedicated woman from Imbali in Pietermaritzburg, stands as a shining example of what it means to pursue growth through challenge, purpose, and unwavering self-belief. Ndlovu graduated Cum Laude for her Advanced Diploma in Business and Information Management from the Durban University of Technology (DUT) 2025 Graduation Ceremony held at Indumiso hall on 13 May 2025. This marks not just the end of an academic chapter, but the continuation of a journey built on accountability, discipline, and vision for Ndlovu.

Reflecting on her time at DUT, Ndlovu described it as a transformative experience that brought both sweet victories and bitter lessons. “Being a DUT student has taught me more than just academic content. It has been a journey of personal elevation. There were moments of discomfort, but every struggle shaped me into a better version of myself,” she says.

Ndlovu’s explained that her academic achievement is the result of deliberate effort, self-discipline, and a hunger for knowledge. “Graduating is a remarkable achievement for me, it reflects the hours of dedication I invested into my studies. It’s a personal testament that I am capable, committed, and ready for what lies ahead,” said Ndlovu.

Raised in a community where respect is deeply valued, Ndlovu strongly connects with DUT’s values and principles of respect and accountability . Ndlovu explained that these values are not just words to her they are lived principles. “Respect has always been my compass. It’s helped me build relationships, earn trust, and stay grounded and accountability that’s been the driver behind every academic milestone I’ve reached. I made it clear to myself from day one, my future depends on the choices I make now,” she explained.

Ndlovu stated that when she shared the news of her graduation with her family, their response was one of pure joy and pride. “They were incredibly excited and grateful. It was an emotional moment, not just for me but for everyone who walked this journey with me. Their support has been one of my greatest blessings,” said Ndlovu.

She explained that choosing Business and Information Management was intentional. Ndlovu believes deeply in personal growth and sees her qualification as a powerful tool for unlocking diverse opportunities. “This career path gives me the flexibility to grow across industries. It equips me with knowledge in both business and technology  a combination I believe is essential in today’s world,” she explained.

Ndlovu is currently employed at Save Hyper in the Online Department, where she is already gaining hands-on experience in digital business operations. She applies her academic background to real-world business functions, learning to navigate the demands of a fast-paced work environment while remaining committed to self-improvement.

She explained that her long-term career vision is centres around entrepreneurship, strategic thinking, operational efficiency, and continuous development. “I want to become someone who creates solutions, not just follows systems. I’m driven by the idea of building something that can make a lasting impact whether it’s a business, a project, or a movement,” said Ndlovu.

She plans to continue with his studies to enhance her qualifications and sharpen her leadership abilities. For her, education is not a destination  it is a continuous journey.

To students just starting out in her field, Ndlovu offers thoughtful and honest advice: “Do self-introspection. Make sure the career path you’re choosing is aligned with who you are and the person you aspire to be. Don’t follow trends  follow your vision. If you believe in what you’re studying, it will carry you through the hard days. Never underestimate the importance of personal values  they will keep you grounded when things get tough,” she said.
