A Durban University of Technology (DUT) Marketing intern, Sihle Mngomezulu (24) from Mkuze, KwaZulu-Natal believes his newly acquired Postgraduate Diploma will open doors for him. He obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Management Sciences specialising in Business Administration at the DUT 2025 Autumn Graduation Ceremony at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban on Wednesday, 21 May 2025.
His academic journey, which began in 2020, has been marked by remarkable achievements, including successfully completing his Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma in Management Sciences specialising in Business Administration.
Mngomezulu’s academic excellence was complemented by his involvement in extracurricular activities. He was a member of the house committee, conducted work-integrated learning, and currently serves as a Residence Advisor in one of the student residences. Additionally, he is interning with DUT Marketing, Public Relations and Events unit as an Event Coordinator.
“Beside excelling in academics, I was in the house committee, conducted my work inter-grated learning at the Hotel School Restaurant and Conference Center, currently a Residence Advisor in one the students residence and I am conducting my internship with Corporate Affairs,” he said.
His decision to pursue a career in Business Administration was driven by his desire to advance himself and secure better job opportunities. Currently registered for his Master’s degree in Administration and Information Management, he aims to develop skills, gain experience, and secure a job in his field.
The values of respect and excellence resonate deeply with him, as he strongly believes in the spirit of Ubuntu, emphasing the importance of treating others with dignity and respect. His academic journey has been smooth sailing, with no major challenges to recall. His parents are incredibly proud of his achievements, having witnessed him graduate multiple times.
“My parents were very much excited when receiving these news as they said you did it again and they cannot recall how many times I am graduating. They keep saying I am now graduating for fun,” he narrated.
Mngomezulu’s story serves as an inspiration to young people, demonstrating the rewards of hard work, determination, and resilience. With his sights set on achieving his goals, Sihle Mngomezulu is poised to make a meaningful impact in his chosen field.
