NOKULUNGA SIBISI VENTURES INTO HUMAN RESOURCES FIELD WITH CUM LAUDE

Nokulunga Sibisi has ventured into human resources field with easy and excellence. Sibisi, who already holds a National Diploma in Public Management has graduated Cum Laude for her Advanced Diploma in Management Sciences specialisng in Human Resources at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) graduation. The ceremony was held on Friday, 23 May 2025 at the Olive Convention Centre (OCC) in Durban.

The exited 31-year-old said she is very proud of what she has achieved and is eyeing for another Cum Laude when she enrolls for her Post grad diploma next year.

“Graduating with Cum Laude is a testament of my hard work and dedication on my schoolwork.  With this Cum Laude honour, I have set the bar high for myself to keep reaching the starsWhen I pursue my studies again next year, I will be aiming for another Cum Laude.,’’ she added.

The Eshowe born highlighted that she transitioned to human resources because she was already working on the field, and she wanted to shape her career positively to thrive even further in this career path.

Sibisi’s journey at DUT was a challenging one, the academic stress was draining, but the drive to thrive kept her going. She applied disciplined and consistency, hence this is why she was able to score herself Cum Laude.

Amongst the DUT values she associates herself the most with is integrity. She said that it is vital to have integrity and be accountable.

Juggling work and school was the most challenging part in Sibisi’s journey. She had to manage a demanding work environment and deadlines. She indicated that balancing her workload was not smooth sailing, but she had to give it her all.

Sibisi advised students who wishes to embark in the same journey as her, should stay focused on their studies and meet their agreed deadlines with the lecturers. She emphasised that this would help them to polish their work and avoid unpunctuality.

Currently, Sibisi is employed as a principal clerk at eThekwini Municipality under the Corporate and Human Capital Cluster. She also plans to pursue her postgrad studies next year.
