FASSET CEO MS AYANDA MAFULELA STRENGTHENS TIES WITH DUT’S FACULTY OF ACCOUNTING AND INFORMATICS

The Durban University of Technology’s (DUT) Faculty of Accounting and Informatics recently hosted the Chief Executive Officer of the Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET) Ms. Ayanda Mafulela, for an engagement meeting with Professor Smangele Moyane, Head of the Department of Information and Corporate Management.

In attendance to the meeting was the FASSET CEO, Ms Ayanda Mafulela, FASSET programme manager, Mr Khulekani Khoza, FASSET, Mr Xola Mguzulwa, Head of Department, Information Corporate Management, Professor Smangele Moyane, and staff members from the department of ICM.

The visit served as a platform to review how the funds awarded to DUT are being managed within the faculty and to ensure that they continue to make a meaningful impact on teaching, learning, and student success.

Through constructive discussions with Professor Moyane, the FASSET CEO explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration between the university and FASSET, while also emphasizing the importance of accountability and sustainability in funding initiatives.

“As FASSET, we are committed to building strong partnerships with higher education institutions such as DUT. These engagements allow us to ensure that the funds we provide are not only managed responsibly but also create meaningful, sustainable impact for students and the broader community. We believe accountability and collaboration are key drivers in transforming education and skills development in South Africa,” said Mafulela.

Professor Moyane expressed her gratitude to FASSET for their support, highlighting that the partnership not only enhances academic development but also contributes significantly to the broader skills development agenda in South Africa.
