The fifth annual Hollywood Foundation KwaZulu-Natal Youth Business Awards honoured exceptional young entrepreneurs who have established impactful businesses in KwaZulu-Natal. The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (KZN EDTEA), Dream Business Hub, BYD Durban and Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban hosted the successful awards ceremony to recognise outstanding young entrepreneurs.
In a remarkable celebration of innovation and youthful ingenuity, Kizuri Tech Solutions has been announced as the winner of the prestigious ‘Youth in Technology Awards for KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) 2025. The accolade recognises Kizuri Tech Solutions’ outstanding contribution to technological advancement and youth empowerment within the region.
Kizuri Tech Solutions was founded by young entrepreneurs, Mr Dolvia M. Mfuamba, a DUT third-year Business and Information Management (ECP) student from the Department of Information and Corporate Management (FAI) and Mr Munekayi A Mfuamba (BSc Computer Engineering). The company has quickly grown to become a leading force in developing innovative software and hardware products designed to address real-world challenges faced by KwaZulu-Natal’s youth. Their flagship projects include educational platforms that enhance digital literacy and community-driven apps that promote innovation within local communities.
These entrepreneurs are not only leaders and role models but also significant contributors to the economy and community. The awards celebrate the achievements of youth-led businesses, providing winners and finalists with well-deserved recognition and a platform to showcase their success. Additionally, the awards connect young entrepreneurs with expert organisations and partners to develop and scale innovative solutions to the critical challenges they face. This year, Kizuri Tech Solutions stood out among a competitive field for their ground-breaking work in delivering accessible and sustainable tech solutions tailored specifically for local communities.
The recognition of Kizuri Tech Solutions serves as an encouraging milestone not only for the company but also for the broader youth entrepreneurship ecosystem in KwaZulu-Natal. Along with DUT ENVISION2030 values, Mr Doliva Mfuamba highlighted the vital role of entrepreneurship education in shaping young tech minds, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and innovative solutions for SouthAfrica’s technological future. As a DUT student, Doliva further explained that Kizuri Tech Solutions focus remains on expanding their impact, forging strategic partnerships, and mentoring the next generation of tech leaders.
