The 2012 Annual Season of Contemporary Dance titled “COSI…COSI” debuts at the DUT Courtyard Theatre at 7pm this evening. Presented by the DUT Drama and Production Studies Department, the production, involving all DUT second and third-year theatre dance students, will showcase five new works by Durban-based choreographers, Mdu Mtshali, Sifiso Khumalo, Neliswa Rashualang and Sifiso Majola.

The choreography in “COSI….COSI” is inspired by the old traditions of African storytelling and explores both dance and drama as integral forms of communication. It is directed by DUT Alumnus and Dance Lecturer Mduduzi Mtshali who flew the DUT flag during the recent Dance Umbrella festival in Joburg where a group of his students performed “Imbokodo”, a dance production he had choreographed.

The vibrant production runs until Friday 12 October 2012.
