DUT To Host Public Lectures

DUT To Host Public Lectures

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) is proud to announce the launch of its Community Lecture Series, a run of open public lectures which will be held at the Hotel School Conference Centre, Ritson Campus, between August and September.

The Enterprise Development Unit (EDU) and the Division of Corporate Affairs have organised the first phase of the talks, at the request of the University Vice Chancellor Professor Ahmed Bawa, whose brainchild the establishment of these lectures was.

EDU Co-ordinator Cindy Stewart said the first three lectures are a trial phase. The success of these will then result in more lectures being hosted by the institution.

The lectures will be all inclusive featuring a variety of topics that are designed to benefit, amongst others, parents, scholars, budding scientists and photographers.

The first lecture, entitled “Beauty Secrets: Tips Every Woman Should Know”, is scheduled for Saturday 25 August 2012. This will be followed by “What your kids eat: Healthy Meals For School Lunchboxes” on Saturday 1 September 2012 and finally, “Internet Safety: What Every Parent Must Know” also on 8 September 2012.

To ensure a smooth transfer of valuable skills and knowledge, DUT will invite experts to speak on the chosen topics.

This will, in turn, market the programmes offered within the institution while profiling DUT as the University of choice.

The first 50 bookings will be accommodated.
