International Professor Addresses Workshop at ML Sultan Campus

A workshop on how to analyse activated sludge in wastewater treatment for public and private sectors was the main topic of discussion when DUT hosted Professor Valter Tandoi from Italy at the DUT Hotel School Conference Centre, Ritson Campus, yesterday (4 February 2014).

Prof Tandoi, who has vast experience in wastewater microbiology, was invited by DUT’s Director of the Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology Prof Faizal Bux to deliver a presentation on Activated Sludge Microscopic Characterization and Plant Troubleshooting as well as an Activated Sludge BIOS Software Demonstration. Prof Tandoi He also held a practical session on Microscopic Identification along with DUT’s Dr Sheena Kumari, also from the University’s Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology.

The one-day workshop was attended by students, scientists and engineers, who benefitted in learning about sludge disposal and wastewater biological treatment from one of the leaders in the field of filamentous bacteria.
