1. When do registrations start?
– On January 16

2. Who can register?
All students who have been formally accepted into a programme.

3. Where will I register?
There are a number of registration venues that have been allocated for registration, and these will be communicated when students are formally accepted into a programme and have complied with any prescribed procedures following their acceptance into a programme.
Accepted students can also access this information on the DUT website, where a composite registration timetable, together with important information related to the registration process is posted.

4. What do I need to bring in order to register?
The following are necessary:
– A letter confirming acceptance into the programme.
– proof of having paid the initial registration fee
– Identity documents
– Study permits in the case of international students
– completed indemnity and surety forms

5. How much is the registration fee?
– Annual students will pay a minimum first installment of R2990.00 upon registration while semester student will pay R 1840.00. Additional fees are applicable for those students accepted into the DUT’s residences.

6. How do I pay the registration fee?
At any bank using your allocated student number, at the DUT cashiers or via internet banking. All such details are on the DUT website https://www.dut.ac.za/student_portal

7. I am a returning student who has outstanding debt because of financial problems. What do I need to do in order to register?
All outstanding debt must be paid before you are allowed to re-register. Even if you do not register you are still liable for any fees owed to the DUT.

8. Who can assist me if I have problems about registration?
Contact the relevant academic department and or the relevant Faculty Office.

9. Which day will I register on?
There are specific days for registration for individual programmes, and these are usually communicated to accepted students. The registration timetable (on the DUT website) also includes these dates.

10. Will late registrations be accommodated and will I be penalised?
If you do not arrive on the stipulated day of registration, you face the risk of your place being given to another applicant on a waiting list. If your are allowed to register late, a late registration fee may be imposed.
