Suspension of the academic programme in Durban

Suspension of the academic programme in Durban

Kindly note that following the student protests today…

Kindly note that following the student protests today, the intimidation of some members of our staff and student body and the disruption of several classes on Steve Biko campus and ML Sultan campus – we have taken the decision, in the interests of safety and security, to suspend academic classes in Durban with immediate effect.

The academic programme will resume on Monday 25 July 2011.

The University expects that all staff will remain at their workstations despite the suspension of the academic programme in Durban.

Sincerely,

Professor Ahmed C Bawa
Vice-Chancellor and Principal
Durban University of Technology
