All Set for Graduation 

A total of 5405 students will graduate from the Durban University of Technology during the upcoming April Graduation season, set to start tomorrow, Wednesday, 15 April 2015.

The ceremonies will begin at the University’s Indumiso CampusIndumiso Hall, FJ Sithole Road, Imbali Township, Pietermaritzburg, ending on Thursday, 16 April 2015. On Wednesday, the faculties of Arts and Design, Accounting and Informatics, Engineering and the Built Environment as well as Health Sciences will hold their graduation ceremonies. On Thursday, the Management Sciences Faculty will conclude the Midlands Centre’s graduation ceremonies in Pietermaritzburg.

From Monday, 20 April 2015, to Friday, 24 April 2015, the Durban Centre’s graduation ceremonies will take place at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre, Gate 5, Steve Biko Road. They will conclude on Friday, 24 April 2015.

This year (2015), the University will honor Joseph Shabalala, Founder of Grammy-award winning Ladysmith Black Mambazo, as well as business mogul Richard Maponya.

In total, 18 Doctor of Technology (DTech) degrees, 63 Master of Technology degrees, 2289 Bachelor of Technology degrees, 3322 National Diplomas (NDip) and 54 Certificates will be conferred during the ceremonies.

A total of 1062 students will graduate from the Accounting and Informatics Faculty, 386 from the Applied Sciences Faculty, 569 from Arts and Design, 992 from Engineering and the Built Environment, 717 from Health Sciences and 1679 from Management Sciences.

A total of 2906 female and 2499 male students will graduate from the institution.

In terms of race, 4264 African students, 805 Indian students, 241 White students, 87 Coloured students and 8 students classified as “other” will graduate.
