The DUT Advancement and Alumni Relations Unit proudly celebrates Mrs Nomthandazo Precious Sibiya-Dlomo as our Alumnus of the Month for October 2025!
A Lecturer and Doctoral Candidate in DUT’s Department of Chemical Engineering, Mrs Sibiya-Dlomo is passionate about shaping the next generation of engineers through teaching, research, and mentorship. Her research focuses on wastewater treatment, nanotechnology, and microalgae-based adsorption, driving sustainable solutions that bridge chemical engineering and environmental innovation. Recognised globally, she has received prestigious honours including the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talents Award and the South African Women in Science PhD Scholarship. A proud member of DUT’s Green Engineering Research Group, Mrs Sibiya-Dlomo continues to inspire through her academic excellence and commitment to societal impact.
