CATERING MANAGEMENT ALUMNUS, LINDAH MAJOLA TO HOST HIS OWN SHOW ON SABC 1

Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) Catering Management Alumnus, Lindah Majola has bagged his first presenting gig on SABC1. He will be presenting a new show called: Wedding Chefs, which is expected to be broadcast next month, in February 2022.

Majola (25) from Bonela in Durban is a man of many talents as he is an aspiring restaurateur, content creator, TikTok star and an actor on the new Showmax telenovela, The Wife, playing the role of Langa. He graduated Cum Laude for his National Diploma in Catering Management at the DUT. In January 2020, he established his own food truck called Humble Cafe’, which is located near his home in Bonela. They specialise in American style fast food and their speciality dish is the Chicken Cheesesteak.

Speaking about his new show, Majola said it is produced by Sothar Pictures for SABC 1 and it is expected to start airing in February 2022, but the exact date is yet to be announced. He revealed that he has already completed shooting the first season of the show around Gauteng.

The ecstatic Majola mentioned that he was scouted by the channel and he sent through his audition tape to the production company.

“When I was appointed as the host of the show, I had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. To have a show that is in line with what I studied (Catering Management) on one of the biggest channels in South Africa is amazing. I have God to thank for it,” he said.

Majola is also grateful to the production company and SABC 1 for giving him this opportunity. He said the show, Wedding Chefs is a completely new concept on television and they needed a fresh face into the industry.

Sharing some of the challenges he faced, Majola said it was his first presenting gig and entering into uncharted territories is always nerve racking.

“I had no idea what I was going to do but the team assisted in equipping me enough to be confident in front of the camera. What I love the most about the show, is meeting the beautiful couples who are on a journey of spending their lives together. I love witnessing love,” noted Majola.

He plans to go wherever God sees fit for him to go, however at the moment, he is still shooting The Wife. Once he is done shooting, he said he plans to return to Humble Café.
