In order to register for the THREE year ND: Information Technology (DS or BA) a student must meet the following requirements:
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a pass in:
English home language (HL) at level 4 (50-59%) or English first additional language (FAL) at level 4 (50-59%)
AND
Mathematics at level 4 (50-59%) or Mathematical Literacy at level 5 (70-79%)
AND
Two 20 credit subjects at level 3 (40-49%) These subjects cannot include Life Orientation or more than one additional language.
A minimum of 28 points with Mathematics and/or 30 points with Maths Literacy.
A maximum of 6 subjects excluding Life Orientation can be used in the calculation.
OR
In addition to the requirements of the General Rules (Rules G7 and G21 (b)) the following specific rules shall apply:
Senior Certificate AND must have:
Grade 12 Mathematics, with a minimum of E Higher Grade or C Standard Grade as well as English with a minimum of E Higher Grade or C Standard Grade.
In exceptional cases, variations in the above requirements shall be considered by the Head of Department.
