DURBAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, NATIONAL YOUTH ICT COUNCIL AND ALGOATWORK ROBOTICS ACADEMY TO HOST 2ND ANNUAL KZN INNOVTECH EXPO

The Durban University of Technology, National Youth Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Council and AlgoAtWork Robotics Academy in partnership with Moses Kotane Institute and the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies will be hosting the second Annual KZN InnovTech Expo 2022 under the theme, “Building local ecosystems for inclusive economic growth”.

The event takes place at the Durban University of Technology, Ritson Campus on Saturday, 08 October 2022 at 9:00am.

The KZNInnovTechExpo incorporates a Hackathon & Makerthon, a 24-hour marathon for innovators to develop robotic solutions and smart technologies for the local economy. This year, the focus will be on solving unemployment and developing solutions for the Transportation and Logistics industry in KwaZulu-Natal, which provides linkages with the South African economy through the N2 and N3, key cargo routes. Driven by the spirit of innovation and disruption, some of the objectives the KZNInnovTechExpo seeks to achieve include: Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital technologies, Hon. Philly Mapulane, will deliver the keynote address on the second day of the #KZNInnovTechExpo2022 and announce the winners in the various categories of challenges happening across 5 Tracks, ranging from the Hackathon & Makerthon, to the Kids’ Robotics Fest and the e-Sports Gaming Fest.
