The Durban University of Technology (DUT), through its Advancement and Alumni Relations Unit (AARU), is proud to announce Ms Ntombizamatolo “Zama” Lugongolo, Senior Manager at uMngeni-uThukela Water, as the DUT Alumnus of the Month for October 2026.

A DUT Taxation graduate, Ms Lugongolo has built an impressive career in internal auditing, risk management and governance, demonstrating how education, determination and continuous learning can translate into meaningful leadership and impact.

Her journey from Flagstaff in the Eastern Cape to senior leadership in South Africa’s public sector is an inspiring reminder that where you begin does not determine how far you can go.
