In less than two weeks, the Durban University of Technology (DUT) will be hosting the much anticipated 2025 Autumn Graduation Ceremonies at the Indumiso campus hall in Pietermaritzburg from Monday, 12 May 2025 to Tuesday, 13 May 2025. The Durban graduation ceremonies will take place at the Olive Convention Centre from Monday, 19 May 2025 to Tuesday, 27 May 2025.
A total number of 7330 graduands from the Midlands and Durban campuses will be graduating. Once again, the “girls” are dominating the graduation list, with over 61% of the graduands being women. That means, a total of 4518 women and 2812 men will be graduating during the 30 individual ceremonies. This year’s DUT Autumn Graduation will be momentous as DUT is celebrating its 21st anniversary since the Durban Institute of Technology (DIT) was renamed and rebranded as the Durban University of Technology (DUT). The 21-year milestone reinforces DUT’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, research and community engagement.
Obtaining their undergraduate qualifications will be a total number of 6328 graduands while 1002 graduands will graduate with their postgraduate qualifications. Topping the graduation list is the Faculty of Management Sciences, which has a total number of 2629 graduands, the Faculty of Accounting and Informatics will have 1974 graduands, followed by the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment with 783, alongside 738 from the Faculty of Applied Sciences, 700 graduands from the Faculty of Arts and Design and 506 students who will be graduating from the Faculty of Health Sciences.

On a daily basis, there will be a maximum of three graduation sessions, with Session 1 at 09h00, Session 2 at 14h00 and Session 3 at 18h00. It is crucial that all graduands know exactly which session they will be graduating and arrive early at the venue. DUT will be livestreaming all 30 ceremonies via the DUT website. There will be no late admission for those who arrive once the ceremony has commenced.
