Excitement is mounting as the Durban University of Technology (DUT) prepares to confer degrees and award diplomas to 940 students who will graduate at the 2025 Spring Graduation Ceremonies. The graduation events will take place over two days at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban on Thursday, 18 September 2025 and Friday, 19 September 2025.
This DUT 2025 Spring Graduation list comprises of 553 women and 387 men. This means that 59% of the adaptive graduates will be women. There will be two individual graduation ceremonies hosted on each day. The first session will commence at 09h00, followed by the second session at 14h00. Earlier this year, DUT celebrated the achievements of 7330 adaptive graduates during the autumn graduation season, therefore taking the total number of adaptive graduates for 2025 to an impressive 8270.
Starting the celebrations on Thursday morning, 18 September 2025, at 09h00, will be graduands from the Faculty of Accounting and Informatics. In the second session at 14h00, graduands from the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment will be joined by the Faculty of Health Sciences. On Friday morning, 19 September 2025, graduands from the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Design and the first group from the Faculty of Management Sciences, will jointly share the graduation stage as they receive their qualifications.
The closing ceremony will be the highlight of the DUT 2025 Spring Graduation season, as the Faculty of Management Sciences will confer an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Management Sciences in Business Administration, to renowned businessman, Mr Sipho Nkosi. The award is in recognition of Mr Nkosi’s significant contribution and stellar accomplishments towards entrepreneurship, business leadership, green and renewable energy and then, youth and women empowerment.
