DUT FC ANNOUNCE SQUAD FOR VARSITY FOOTBALL 2025

The Durban University of Technology Football Club (DUT F.C) is proud to unveil the squad that will represent the university in the highly anticipated Varsity Football 2025 tournament. The tournament kicks off with a thrilling home fixture, DUT FC vs TUT at Harry Gwala Stadium on Thursday, 7 August 2025 from 18h30.

Following an intensive pre-season camp and a series of training matches, head coach Ziphozonke Dlangalala a respected and experienced figure in South African football has carefully selected a balanced and competitive squad of 26 players.

This year’s squad features a strong core of returning players who gained valuable experience during DUT’s debut Varsity Football campaign. The leadership of Captain Xolani Mkhonza, who wears the armband for the second time, alongside Vice-Captain Sifundo Ngema, provides the team with stability and motivation both on and off the pitch.

The return of key players like Manqoba Mlele, Khulekani Nxumalo, Sbonelo Ngidi, Thalente Mkhize, Iviwe Sodidi, and Phiwayinkosi Mchunu is expected to strengthen team chemistry and tactical execution.

In an exciting development for the fans, DUT will host three home matches this season an opportunity to build momentum and capitalise on home advantage with the support of the local crowd.

With thorough preparations and a united squad under expert leadership, DUT F.C is ready to fly the university flag high in the 2025 Varsity Football tournament.
