The Gender Forum at the Durban University of Technology, hosted yet another successful Spring Fun Walk recently at the Curries Fountain Sports Field.

The event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle as well increase interactions among DUT staff members who work in different departments within the University. All participants started the day by visiting the regsitration table before taking part in an approximately 4km walk.

The 2016 Spring Fun Walk saw both 2015 winners in the male and female categories defending their titles successfully in this year’s race. The male winner was Jaya Naidoo who has been taking home the number one spot for the past four years. Also doubling on her number one spot tally was Nompumelelo Phakathi who took the number one spot for the second consecutive time.

All attendees and participants were given goodie bags packed with nutritious food. After all participants made it past the finish line, the Best Spring hat competition and lucky draws followed. Naidoo’s reign continued as he won prices in both the lucky draws and the ‘Best Spring Hat’ completion.

The event was closed on a high note with some Zumba exercise.
