DUT GOLF DAY SWINGS INTO ACTION TO EMPOWER STUDENTS

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) Fundraising Golf Day hosted by the Advancement and Alumni Relations unit, is set to take place on Friday, 17 October 2025 at the prestigious Randpark Golf Club in Johannesburg.
This annual event is much more than a day of golf and networking, it is a powerful platform for social impact. According to Ms Ronelle Lyson, Alumni Relations Co-Ordinator at the DUT Advancement and Alumni Relations unit, through the generosity of participants, alumni, sponsors and donors, they aim to raise essential funds for two critical student support initiatives:
  • The Alumni Bursary Fund, providing financial assistance to academically deserving students facing economic hardship.
  • The Phakimpilo Food Security Programme, ensuring that no student goes hungry while pursuing their academic goals.
“Every swing, every sponsorship and every donation contributes to building a more equitable and empowered community. This event reflects DUT’s commitment to restoring dignity, fuelling hope and creating opportunities for students to thrive,” reiterated Ms Lyson.
The DUT Fundraising Golf Day offers corporate partners, alumni and friends of the university a chance to make a lasting difference while enjoying a day of camaraderie and competition on one of South Africa’s premier golf courses.
To participate in the event or for sponsorship opportunities, registration details, or to make a donation, please contact Ms Nishie Govender at the Advancement and Alumni unit at nishieg@dut.ac.za
