“I love Durban. It’s eclectic, like me,” says Tamar Panaino who, so she says, draws most of her inspiration from the beautiful City of Durban.

“I have always loved jewellery. One of the first presents I remember getting as a little girl was a jewellery box full of plastic jewels. It’s one of the first things I notice on a person,” she says.

Mismatch-4After studying Jewellery Design at DUT, Tamar worked in the commercial jewellery sector before launching her own jewellery brand: Mismatch with a small range of sterling silver stud earrings.

“It was only when I started selling at the I Heart Market that I started experimenting with resin and developed the resin range. Now the resin costume jewellery is all I make,” says Panaino. Fun, colourful and eclectic, Mismatch boasts a broad range to choose from, something for everyone. “All the pieces are handmade. I aim to make the best quality jewellery I can even though it is costume jewellery,” she says.
