DUT GRADUATES ARE LIVING DUT’S VALUES AS THEY STEP INTO THE FUTURE

Paying tribute to the perseverance, intellectual engagement, and unwavering commitment to learning was the order of the day at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) 2025 Spring Graduation ceremony on Friday, 19 September 2025 at the 9am session.

This morning, Friday, 19 September 2025, saw the culmination of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Design and the Faculty of Management Sciences at DUT where all graduating 447 students had completed its cycle from higher certificates to doctorates. The efforts of the various faculties were recognised, especially all the DUT staff were given recognition, and being instrumental in driving the remarkable growth and success of the faculties present at the DUT 2025 Spring Graduation ceremony .

Giving recognition to the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Design and the Faculty of Management Sciences for their academic excellence was DUT’s Faculty of Applied Sciences, Executive Dean Prof Suren Singh.

He  extended his sincere gratitude to all the Faculty’s distinguished academics, dedicated supervisors, diligent research staff, skilled technical staff, committed tutors, support staff, administrators and the Faculty office teams for their unwavering efforts and holding the commitment to being creative, distinctive and impactful.

Prof Singh indicated that the academic session owed its success to the dedicated efforts of key personnel across the university, including programme directors overseeing the graduation sessions, stage announcers guiding each ceremony, and essential departments such as Corporate Affairs, the Design Studio, the Audio Visual unit, registrar’s office and the faculty offices.

Prof Singh shared the theme of the DUT 2025 Spring Graduation which embraces 21 years for DUT, signifying a key to the world for one’s careers, further focusing on one’s passport to a world of opportunities.

“Our graduates are ready to board your Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Design and the Faculty of Management Sciences flights to new horizons. This ceremony marks not just the end of a journey, but the moment you take off toward destinations yet to be discovered, emphasised Prof Singh.

He urged the graduates to embrace their journey, to trust in their training and to never stop exploring new altitudes.

“Congratulations, class of 2024-your Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Design and the Faculty of Management Sciences flights are cleared for their departure to celebrate achievements and to explore new horizons,” he concluded.
