The library department ran a competition titled: LibQual survey in September 2021. The competition saw five lucky DUT members being the lucky winners of the mobile tablets that were up for grabs.
LibQUAl is a survey which allows the library to benchmark its services globally and to also identify areas of improvement. The winners of this competition were selected from DUT staff, undergraduate and post-graduate students
The lucky winners were as follows:
Postgraduates:
- Ms Nqobile Ndlovu (Department of Information Systems)
- Mr Ajayi Ayodele (Department of Mechanical engineering)
Undergraduates:
- Ms Zanele Ngcobo (Department of Fashion and Textile)
- Mr Jadon Muthusamy (Chemical engineering)
Staff:
- Mr Norman Ronald (Centre for Quality Promotion)
- Library Director, Dr Malefetjane Phaladi congratulated the winners and thanked them for participating in the competition and encouraged students to use library resources.
- One of the winners, Muthusamy said: “I’m grateful for winning this tablet. At home we share a computer and so this device will help me complete assignments and attend online classes.”
- Another winner, Ngcobo said that the survey questions were hard and required a lot of thinking and effort. “Our librarian recommended the competition to us and I was convinced enough to enter. I currently do not own a laptop and I will use the tablet for my studies.”
