DUT RANKED 43RD GLOBALLY FOR ETHICAL VALUE – WORLD’S UNIVERSITIES WITH REAL IMPACT 2020 RANKINGS

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) has been ranked 43rd globally, in the Ethical Value category, in the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) 2020 rankings.

This world ranking is viewed as a great honour for DUT, since it was the only South African university named in Ethical Value category of the WURI 2020 rankings. DUT has been counted amongst the finest universities in the world, with Harvard University in the USA, leading this category.

Despite the challenges experienced this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DUT has managed to make its mark in the university world rankings. In September, DUT was rated as one of the top five universities in South Africa and amongst the best in Africa, by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2021. It was the first time that DUT was featured in these global rankings, widely regarded as the largest and most diverse, including more than 1500 universities across 93 countries and regions.

Being listed amongst the best Ethical Value universities in the world is a great achievement for DUT, since innovative curricula and research is one of the enabling strategic objectives of the University’s ENVISION 2030 strategy, of improving lives and livelihoods. Being people-centred and engaged and innovative and entrepreneurial, is at the core of our strategic plan. DUT is grateful that WURI has recognised the effort, dedication and integrity of our students, staff and alumni.
