The Durban University of Technology (DUT) will celebrate the academic achievements of 932 graduates during its 2026 Spring Graduation ceremonies, taking place on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, and Thursday, 17 September 2026, at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban.
The ceremonies will recognise students who have successfully completed their qualifications across DUT’s six faculties, representing both the Durban and Midlands campuses.
For graduates and their families, the occasion marks the culmination of years of academic commitment, perseverance and hard work. For DUT, it is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of its students and the contribution they will make to society, industry and the broader economy.

Of the 932 graduands listed for the Spring Graduation ceremonies, 554 are women and 378 are men. Women account for almost 60% of the graduating cohort, continuing to demonstrate their strong presence and contribution to academic achievement at DUT.
The Spring Graduation ceremonies will comprise four sessions over two days, with two sessions scheduled each day. The first session will commence at 10h00, followed by the second session at 15h00.
Earlier this year, DUT celebrated 7,993 graduates during its Autumn Graduation season. With the additional 932 graduates being honoured during the Spring Graduation ceremonies, the University will celebrate a total of 8,925 graduates during the 2026 graduation cycle.
The Faculty of Management Sciences will have the largest number of graduands, with 341, followed by the Faculty of Accounting and Informatics with 280. The Faculty of Applied Sciences will celebrate 124 graduands, while the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment will have 112.
The Faculty of Arts and Design will celebrate 41 graduands, while the Faculty of Health Sciences will have 36 graduands.
The graduation profile also reflects DUT’s commitment to advancing postgraduate education and research. Of the 932 Spring Graduation graduands, 721 will receive undergraduate qualifications, while 103 will receive postgraduate qualifications. A further 108 Master’s and Doctoral graduates will be celebrated during the Spring Graduation ceremonies.
The Spring Graduation ceremonies are expected to bring together graduates, families, academic staff, university leadership and other members of the DUT community as the University celebrates another important milestone in its academic calendar.
All graduands are advised to confirm their allocated graduation session and arrive at the venue early. All four ceremonies will be livestreamed on the DUT website at www.dut.ac.za. Once the ceremonies have commenced, no late admission will be permitted.
