The Durban University of Technology (DUT) will be hosting the Seventh Forum for Audit, Risk and Forensics (FARF) Conference 2021 themed: An Entrepreneurial Flair Within Each Initiative-a Thought Too Far Perhaps? The FARF Conference 2021 will be held online, via Microsoft Teams, from Thursday, 18 November 2021 to Friday, 19 November 2021.
The conference ,which is under the broader umbrella of Universities of South Africa (USAf) and the auspices of the Finance Executives Forum (FEF), is mandated to promote and facilitate collective learning and knowledge sharing with respect to internal audit, risk management and forensics at South African Higher Education Institutions.
The FARF Conference 2021 is deliberately opting for making entrepreneurial flair essential within each role-player and every initiative, in the context of a Higher Education Institution (HEI). As the host, DUT will place added emphasis on some of the key activities constituting the core business of a typical higher education institution. The entire proceedings of the conference include a softly coated tone of the DUT ENVISION2030 strategy. Lessons learned from the proceedings will influence our approach to service delivery.
Expectedly, deliberations over the two days will provide each delegate with a synthesised food for thought, which will effectively inform their entrepreneurial flair.
Some of the points of discussion include; reflections on a typical business model of a HEI, with a view to exploring opportunities for improvement, thoughts on International Education and Partnerships, Combined assurance, through a fraud and forensics prism.
Through this conference, the University aims to strengthen its responsibility of training and raising awareness. In the Programme, DUT will feature speakers and/or facilitators from at least 12 sister HEIs as well as across the industry, taking the cross-pollination of innovative ideas to another level.
The FARF Conference 2021 will be also be inviting TVET College representatives to deepen our Community Engagement posture, as we are weary of inclusivity of the Post School Education and Training (PSET) ambit.
Your attendance will be highly appreciated. Please see conference registration details below:
