DUT TO LAUNCH COVID-19 VACCINATION CENTRE

The Durban University of Technology (DUT), in partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health, will launch its own COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at the DUT Hotel School, Ritson Campus in Durban on Wednesday, 08 September 2021.

The DUT COVID-19 Response Task Team is setting up the temporary vaccination centre for one week, in an effort to help curb the spread of COVID-19 at the university and in the wider South African community.

All students and staff aged 18 years and older who would like to be vaccinated are invited to visit the vaccination centre from 08h00 to 15h30 on weekdays, from 8 to 15 September 2021. No appointment is necessary and no entry permit will be required to access the vaccination centre at the DUT Hotel School.

To get vaccinated, all that is needed from students and staff is a valid ID document and a student or staff card. The first 100 students to be vaccinated will receive a free 4G data bundle as a token of appreciation.

Members of the DUT Student Representative Council (SRC) will lead the way by coming forward to be vaccinated on day one.

Staff and students are reminded to complete the HealthCheck screening tool before proceeding to campus to save time. HealthCheck can be found at:

All students and staff are strongly encouraged to take this opportunity to vaccinate quickly and safely at DUT. All persons working at DUT, including contract workers, are also welcome and eligible to visit the vaccination centre. The message from DUT is clear. Don’t hesitate. Vaccinate!
