Ecstatic tutor Nonhlanhla Mkhwanazi rocked the graduation stage with pride as she obtained her Diploma in Public Relations and Communications Cum Laude with the Dean’s Merit award. She graduated at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) 2024 Autumn Graduation ceremony which was held at the Indumiso Campus, Pietermaritzburg on 14 May 2024.

The 40-year-old hailing from Mtubatuba believes that being a tutor contributed massively to her Dean’s Merit attainment.

“What assisted me is that I am also tutoring in the same course. I gained a lot of understanding in my course. It contributed to me achieving Cum Laude with the Dean’s Merit award,’’ she said.

Mkhwanazi appreciated her family who were also present at the graduation ceremony for their support throughout her academic journey.

“I was fortunate enough to have an incredibly supportive family and it made my academic life easier. Also, I thank my lecturers, friends, and classmates,’’ she said.

Mkhwanazi is tutoring first, second, and third years in Public Relations and Media and Stakeholder Management at DUT.
