The 8th annual Sustainable Living, hosted by Imagine Durban, took place at the Durban Exhibition Centre, this week, focusing on youth development.

Exhibitors came in their numbers to display their products, promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy, waste minimisation, water conservation, food security and greening. The exhibition is also held in the context of the provincial and global sustainable expansion plan in the form of

Sustainable Development Goals, Paris Climate Change Agreement, National Development Plan and Provincial Growth and Development Strategy (PDGS). The Durban University of Technology ( DUT) won the best stand in renewable energy and energy efficiency and the trophy for best stand at the exhibition with their energy bus that has been particularly enhanced to uphold clean energy solutions and how various renewable energy systems work.

DUT’s Homeopathy department represented the institution to raise awareness for natural medicine with zero side effects and to raise awareness of sustainable living. The Arts and Design department presented garments made with recyclable material. The exhibition was a huge success and showcased to the youth the issues pertaining to climate change.
