DUT’s Ladies FOOTBALL TEAM TAKES TOP POSITION

After a win against Real Dolphin last month, the Durban University of Technology’s ladies team remains at the top of the log this season.

This is the second season in the SAFA eThekwini region league since the team joined during the 2016/16 campaign. Last season the team finished in the top six of the log. In their final match, DUT won by a whopping 3 goals to 2. The first and the winning goal was scored by jersey number 23 worn by Zethu Biyane who is the team’s striker. The second goal was scored by jersey number 9 worn by Siphokazi Kambi who is the right wing of the team.

“Our goal this season is to remain number one so that we can qualify for playoffs in order to qualify for the Sasol soccer league, that is the current biggest league in women football,” said Sandile Dube.

The DUT ladies’ soccer team is currently playing under the SAFA ABSA League. Their next game will be on Saturday, 7 October 2017 at the Steve Biko Sports ground. They will play against Claremont’s Fubs Ladies football team. After Saturday’s match, they will on Sunday play against Moorcros at Chatsworth Stadium where kickoff will start at 10 am.
