21-year-old Sindiswa Mbhele is a qualified Public Relations practitioner, she obtained her qualification from Durban University of Technology (DUT) and is now doing her Advanced Diploma in PR. Mbhele was crowned as Miss Durban in 2020 and she is still the reigning queen.
“I joined modeling in 2019, my friends assisted me to join and ever since then I never looked back. In 2019 I bagged my first title of Miss Durban Role model 2nd Princess, in 2020 I became Miss Durban Runway 2020 and then Miss Durban Queen 2020. Winning the Miss Durban 2020 tittle was such a proud moment for me! I was ecstatic, I could not believe it. It boosted my self-confidence and made me fall in love with myself more,” said Mbhele.
Mbhele says she did not choose to study PR at first hand but learning that the course links up with modeling somewhere has made her to fall deeply in love.
“I advocate for equality. I believe that we are all equal and are enough, capable, and strong therefore we should be exposed to equal opportunities. When I see a reflection of myself in the eyes of my peers and hear them saying that I am their role model, I get motivated instantly!” she said.
Mbhele currently has modeling classes where she teaches young females how to do catwalk and other related activities.
“My dream is to bring about change to the youth, positive chance that is. I foresee myself working with top designers like Indoni Fashion House. I would like to work with more talented artists and models. In addition, I see myself as a prominent Public Relations Practitioner who is vastly known for doing her job perfectly,” said Mbhele.
